Bio: An ancient monitor lizard ancestor, Varan originated from the Pleistocene period around South Eastern Asia. What sets him apart from his more modern kin is his “triphibian” capabilities with the ability to thrive in water, land, and even the air with strong membranes that can be unfolded from between his limbs. Interestingly, ancient humans who’ve pondered upon Varan referred to him as a very distinct name that MONARCH scientists have translated into “Baradagi, The Mountain God”. These ancient humans, much like other Kaiju they’ve witnessed such as Godzilla and Mothra, worshipped Varan as a ‘Divine Protector’ of sorts.In current history, Varan remains dormant some where in the Huanren Reservoir in China.
