The Tsami household is a house with many critters, majority being dogs, Melcocha is considered the alpha since she's the biggest and intimidates by size, although she's a sweet heart. Which is why a common scene in the morning is that all the dogs pile up on her in troves and nuzzle her awake.

Ms.Maudie would be considered the beta, being that she's "retired" with old age but thus is the wisest, she corrals everyone in harmony but even then she isn't the first one to tackle Melcochas fluffy face, which is Canela who adores her.
