Description Or should I say Mid-Knight run?... Okay, sorry, I know that was corny. SPOILER ALERT, anyways really happy that D. Bats is staying. I knew eventually that Bruce would return, but I was hoping that this team would stay the same. Not too sure about the Batmen, idea... Sound like One More day to me... They should just follow Captain America's lead. Or is there a bunch of Captain Americas over at Marvel too?... OH NOES!

Anyways, this Batman and Robin team is awesome! Don't split them up DC!

Thanks, I like keeping it sketchy. I did have an "under drawing" that helps in keeping it solid.

nice pic, but I have to say it sounds like a bad idea to keep them this way with Bruce back. plus the batman team sounds worse. I don't know maybe it will be awesome as this Batman and Robin are

I like Bruce as the Batman, don't get me wrong. I am totally biased when it comes to Dick Grayson, The New Teen Titans was my favorite comic when I was growing up, so Nightwing has been my favorite character. So when you have Dick becoming Batman, that to me is the best character of all times. I'm sticking with my preference of having Bruce becoming a mentor and train a new army of young heroes and leave the cowl with Dick. Just my humble opinion.

I hope not, I rather there be a Nightwing than a Red Robin, but that's me.

Yeah I like Nightwing because he was like a young version of batman. I hope they don't try to turn Jason Todd into Nightwing again. As for Red Robin I think Chris Yost and Marcus to, are the only ones who made him seem like a badass.

Yeah that was a epic movie had the best animation I've seen in a long time. The final fight with Jason and Batman and Joker was done so well. I think Jason Made a lot of fans after that.

Oohh, you coloring is great! The poses in this really say "Action is happening!"

Can you give me some tips on coloring?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BobbyRubio In reply to Ankh117 [2010-09-05 07:12:18 +0000 UTC]

One tip that I can give is look at live action reference. I know that Dark Knight was shot in Chicago, so I Googled "Chicago Skyline" and was looking for a shot that had the color scheme that I liked. Finding reference, always makes things easier.

As of yet I have not read any of the issues of the new dick grayson batman but I like the idea that he graduated to that level. Weird though. This is an average size Batman (5'10" to 5'11") rather than the 6'2" or 6'3" tall version. Or is Dick wearing platforms? What happens when this Robin grows up and is taller than Batman? will be wierd.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BobbyRubio In reply to Chemsem [2010-09-05 07:07:43 +0000 UTC]

I always thought that the entire rogues gallery know that the new Batman was Nightwing. Nightwing should be less bulky. And I think that by the time Damian grows taller than Dick, he will no longer be Robin. Maybe he'll graduate to be Nightwing and then later on, take up the Batman mantle... just a thought.

Chemsem In reply to BobbyRubio [2010-09-06 03:11:10 +0000 UTC]

I was thinking the same thing. In comic form it must be too easy to hide one character as another. In real life, or in animated form, it would be too difficult to portray convincingly. The batman/superman animated series took care of part of the problem with Supes having total voice control to sound like Bruce. It was a clever idea, but that just added more stuff to Supes ever expanding abilities. But having Dick be Batman, I would think the gallery would know as well. How would a challenge from the Joker vs. Batman/Dick take place? I mean Joker and Bruce have more against one another than Dick vs. the Clown. And what happened to Nightwing now that Dick is Bats? Have they talked about that yet? What did they do with Batman was replaced in Knightfall? Even Jim Gordon would know there is someone different under the mask. This new Batman would be more acrobatic I think than Bruce's on account of Dick being more graceful and fast without too much strength behind him. Have you seen the new animated movie with nightwing in it? There is definitely a difference in the way they move.

I finally saw the Under the Red Hood movie and I loved it! I have to admit, I haven't bought any new Batman comics since the first few issues of Batman and Robin, and when Quietly left and I heard that Bruce was coming back I dropped the title, assuming that they will break up the team. Looks like I'll have to pick up the title again. I really want to see the character development between all the main characters and I think it will be very interesting to see how the rogues gallery responds to D. Bats. Let's hope it's good!

Chemsem In reply to BobbyRubio [2010-09-07 05:10:39 +0000 UTC]

Crossing my fingers. Too expensive for me to pick up issue by issue though. Hoping for trade paperback...or better yet an ebook/nook/sony reader with color and digital versions of the books. That would be awesome.

And under the red hood was gloriously action packed and violent. Not used to seeing Batman in a more realistic world.

i will admit, i love Dick as Batman. he deserves t more than anyone else and i hope they keep it that way. i also agree with you on just having Bruce come back and just running the show via Batman Beyond while Dick and Damian do the dirty work from now on. Bruce needs to realize that he can't do it forever and should give up the cowl to Dick who has been with him for years. this would be great development and at last giving Dick the respect and recognition he deserves.

BobbyRubio In reply to strayspoon42 [2010-09-05 07:02:40 +0000 UTC]

YES! I wholeheartedly agree with you! One of the cool moments in the Miller/Lee Batman story is when Bruce acknowledges that Dick was born to be in the spotlight and had natural athletic gifts that he doesn't have. Granted, I think Bruce is more of a detective, but in my mind I see Dick and Damian being a better "ninja"-like strike team.

strayspoon42 In reply to BobbyRubio [2010-09-05 07:26:28 +0000 UTC]

that's cause they are!!! totally! been reading Streets of Gotham and they are such a Ninja team! even Dick mentions that he is NOT BRUCE!!! Bruce is more the detective than Dick, but where Dick lacks in total deductive skills, he makes up in his street skills and physical prowess.

Dick NEEDS to stay as the new Batman and Damian is great as the new Robin. Bruce has had his time and it's time for him to take a damn break.

OptimusOmega In reply to ??? [2010-09-03 17:10:54 +0000 UTC]

Great piece. I love the energy.

I have mixed feelings about the whole "two Batmans" thing. On the one hand, I am very happy that Dick will be allowed to keep the cowl, as I have been advocating since the beginning that he should be allowed to continue on as Batman. He's earned it, and taking it away from him would defeat the purpose of giving it to him in the first place (not to mention that I personally am opposed to the abuse of the Death/Resurrection cycle we've seen in recent years, and would like to see a little more permanence in the comic book worlds). Also, other heroes, such as Green Lantern and the Flash also have made their careers with more than one person actively using the name. There are currently three active Flashes and four active human Green Lanterns. Also, if done right, I think there could be some great story potential with two guys under the cowl, especially since Dick and Bruce are very different people.

Overall, I'd say that this is a suitable compromise. Bruce fans can stop whining that there's a different guy under the cowl, and Dick fans get to see him continue to grow into the role. I'm going to try and maintain some optimism, and withhold judgement until we see the actual results.

PS: Sorry for the lengthy reply, but Batman is my favorite comic book character, and this whole subject of Bruce VS Dick is something I feel very strongly about.

BobbyRubio In reply to OptimusOmega [2010-09-03 17:27:33 +0000 UTC]

Don't apologize, I agree with what you say about giving Dick the cowl and then taking it away defeats the purpose and he truely deserves to be Batman. He has definitely earned it! I was hoping that Bruce would run Wayne Enterprises and on the side he would mentor a new batch of crusaders. Reminicent of the end of the Dark Knight run, SPOILER ALERT ( But, who hasn't read Dark Knight?) when he took in Carrie and the Sons of the Batman... Yeah, bring back the Sons of the Batman, that is what I would have wanted. I want Bruce to train his army and prepare them for the future.

They can't kill Grayson, he's the coolest character of them all. If anything, I want him to go back to being Nightwing and lead the Titans again. That's the book I want again. The real Titans!
