We used to have a cat, Moppet; if you so much as put your hand anywhere near her, she'd tear it to shreds. She was tied in a plastic bag when she was a kitten, we took her in when she was found. People can be too cruel.

I did, when she wasn't trying to claw every surface in the house (including my parents and me ^_^). We had to give her up in the end, my brother was born and Moppet got very jealous; she kept going to attack him. It does make sense, she'd had all of our attention for years and then this screaming little bundle comes home.

Cat's do get jealous I'm afraid. They're funny little thing. I hope everything turned out okay for Moppet in the end.

I think it did, we took her to a rescue center; I cried all the way there and the way back. I was only nine at the time, I was heart-broken.

Izzy's fine thanks. She spends as much time outdoors as she can, huntin' shootin' and fishin' and comes home for food, cuddles and napping. She's fast asleep on her armchair right now.

Yep, probably; although, my aunt's old cat was completely evil. I swear, you could see it plotting from across the room, you'd expect to find a fish head in your bed if you stayed over ^_^

The cat we had at home when I was a kid was not very nice. He was a very bad tempered tom called Noddy, a grey tabby. We were all scared stiff of him!

He was the family pet and, well, we didn't want to have him put down

I get that, we sometimes couldn't stand Moppet (who I've nicknamed now the Spawn of Satan ^_^) but we still loved her. I can't tell you how hard it was giving her up.
Our next pet, Floppy the rabbit, also had health issues; he had scoliosis, which is part of the condition I've got. Talk about pets and owners being alike!

You kind of accept that once you take them on, the deal is to look after them. I always think of that when I see people out in the cold and the rain walking their dogs. They wouldn't dream of letting them down. ^_^

Well, Floppy (we named him Flopsy, then found out he was a boy ^_^) was a right hand full. I used to wrap him in a blanket and carry him like a baby when I was younger. He was very tame then, I think he liked it
