It had a great potential. It could finally explore backgrounds of most mysterious villains. They could finally have some really powerful and unique villan. I especially loved the idea where it was Grogar behind creating Discord. Discord fearigng something far more powerful than him preparing mane 6 to destroy the great evil would be way better than "I wanted twilight to be confident" we got...
Also they just went with the most clasical "all united beat the bad guy". And I am more a fan of "clever fights"
What hurt me the most was terrible writing behind Discord. Why was he hiding the entire episode? He already fought Chrysalis without his magic only to save fluttershy, so a mission like that shouldnt be a problem to him now. But instead he was even hiding behind fluttershy...

We t forget somethig when see the series: the focus. Even when pass almost 10 years the focus is Still girl of 7-9 years, so, even if we want that kind of ideas, the focus Still prevail (this isn't avatar or another series with a major mature content). Even the mysteries are better worked in the cΓ³mic Γ‘rea (when They have enough time to see the info). The potential is stll here, but the produces didn't give a chance (not only in the villains and mysteries, also in the friendships in the main characters, did Twilight escape from the phantom friendzone ? Aj have a bigger family? They have descendants? What hsppend to another major or Minor characters like daring do or muffins?).
The best example of epic ending in series was the original ending of transformes first era in breast machines, with optimus dying and fused with the matrix alingside with megatron, but takes a lot of time, back story and patience to get it. Now Mlp have his own lore to work and ideas to share, They really need to end to give more ideas or probably get or confused moments (like in Simpson), flanderization(spngebob) or a total chaos without control (fairly oddparents)

Low age of target audience doesn't matter. I am aware that the show is for little girls, but the thing is I started watching it only because how clever it was despite such an undemanding audience.Β
Season endings such as return to harmony, starlights village, or both chrysalis stories were AMAZING. Finale could be the same if they only let any writer from these episodes act here too.Β
All things you have mentionec could have happend and I am sure both kids and adults would enjoy solving these mysteries.Β
well... at least they are making generation 5. I hope they will learn on past mistakes and victories to make something better here.

Ending was simply boring. In past endings there were always some riddles and smart solutions. In this one it was like every single ending of cheap film. Everyone grab their hands and "together we can everything" - bad guy defeated. I was hoping for something more unigue like in previous finales. (though episode 26 was done really good. only 24 i 25 bothered me)

Considero is the real ending this time, im not surprised. Is very shonen ending (good guys defeat the bad guy), also the series have a detail than every season shows I. The season finake: not repeat

it's alright, they're an annoying (kid, most likely) person who has nothing better to do than to seek for attention on other's comments, because why not. they also keep using MLP emotes as responses because they're not clever enough to think of one

I happen to have turned 32, there are definitely better things I can do with my time, and I am certainly a very clever individual but I only use that cleverness for important matters which this is not.
My use of Discord's icon had been, in the first place, to show the other user that the name of Discord isn't just the social site thing, which I had done because their 'joke' did not look like it was intended to be one. So there wasn't any way I could have known they weren't being serious about it.
