Description
A place of remembrance; a trigger to recall events an eternity ago. Childrendancing in the mushy leaves under the trees, chasing them, trying to catch up
with them as the breeze whirls them up in the air and sets them down again.
They never caught any; the wind was just too clever and quick for them.
Beautiful, he thought. The sun's oxydated light flooding, reanimating the pale
spring evening. The sermon of angels, blown aloud on a thousand golden
trumpets, from here to infinity.
A lonesome man on an old bench in the park with his thin white hair waving in
the winter wind. A short butt of a handrolled cigarette hung from his left lip
corner and curled up as the man smiled. The bench, probably still a little
younger than the man, partially shed itself of its painted pale-olive skin over
the years.
It started to rain - as the minutes passed, the drops grew bigger and heavier,
gently touching down from the heavens. He just sat there for a while, inhaling
the serenity and peace deeply whilst the rain beat as drums on his coat. It was
twilight now, and the children had all run off to catch supper at home. With
shaking hands the man took off his glasses to wipe the drops from them before
they would freeze onto the steel rims. Squinting his eyes, making the wrinkles
in his weathered skin considerably deeper, he tried to make out the figure
walking towards him from the distance.
I saw him sitting there; cold and alone. I walked to him and sat down next to
him. Bewildered he stared into the darkness creeping in overhead. In silence we
looked at eachother and nodded. We both understood what we meant to say. No
words shall stain this moment.

thank you very much for viewing, commenting and the fave!
the sky looked very strange already to the naked eye, it had a reddish color... from where i live, there's always this orange glow in the sky when looking northwards... it's because of the zurich airport nearby - but when taking this picture the sky had this strange color all around.
anyway, the 30s exposure brought out the colors very nicely (no saturation added!). whitebalance was automatic. no filter used (except a transparent MultiCoat protector, which shouldn't change anything).

I used to believe only birds can fly... I used to feel the sun only when the rays were coming down my skin, I used to dream of wonders I thought I'd never find... I looked one day at an empty bench in the middle of a sea of leaves and I understood the silent song within it's lines. Every bird needs to rest sometime, every sunny day has a sunset, And all the dreams are meant to tell us what to find... Sometimes we need to rest. Sometimes we look into the sunset finding the wonders of our childhood dreams while we witness to a poem of light and lines. Traces of our point of view. Our world of memories flying on the rays of the sunset.

Mhmmm. Fantastic indeed. The stitching is wonderful, again. The colors are amazing. Lively and yet lonely and barren at the same time.
The words suit this piece very well.
Excellent job.
(And no need for thank yous. I like your work. And I comment on what I like. You better get used to it )

Well..you know my op on this one Awesome shot, gotta love the colors. Not the usual 'synth light' yellow, not the common '+brightness/+sat' bluetones..just..sunny gold and redtones.
Awesome.

the tree is beautiful, the branches look amazing!
beautiful colouring - especially with the sky! I just would have brighten up the ground a bit, so that you can figure out the man on the bench better. But you created a wonderful atmosphere!
the poem is simply beautiful and moving! going to check out *aap 's site now!

thanks for your kind comment, barns!
i did lighten up the ground already, the original photo was too dark (and no way to lighten it with minimum aperture and maximum exposure time). i like how it looks now (on my color-calibrated monitor anyway).
and yeah, *aap 's a gifted writer, good idea to check him out.

the color in this is awesome! the sky looks like its reflecting the leaves color, idk thats just how it seems to me
i like that you used 2 pictures for this also, it makes it even bigger making the "alone" person on the bench seem even more alone
