Map showing the major locations of the first ten chapters of my retelling. This sketch isn't shown with the actual text of the story but is linked to in a comment attached to Chapter 9. There it is mentioned that it spoils the major event of Chapter 10 (Shattering) if a reader isn't familiar with the canon, so is also linked again from a comment there if the reader prefers to wait to view it then. (If you're viewing this here and that spoils things, too bad. )

Locations mentioned in Chapter 9 but not shown here (and not already stated in the image):

-another Great Being fortress somewhere in the Great Jungle, where the "Lifer" Great Being is imprisoned (that's a fan nickname for the guy cursed by the Legendary Mask of Life for touching it so that everything around him turns alive, and punished with a life sentence, heh).

-Spirit's Wish gate -- it's somewhere along the Skrall River.

-Great Volcano & Prototype Robot unstable power source cube also in center of Valley of the Maze

Locations known in the post-Shattering world explained in relation to this map:

-Great Barren (most of Spherus Magna) = Bara Magna planet

-Great Jungle (including Northern Frost) = Bota Magna moon

-Great Ocean = Aqua Magna moon

-Head of Prototype Giant Robot in Black Spike Mountains = Roxtus, the Skrall capitol during 2009 plot

-White Quartz Mountain (snowy region atop one of them) = Iconox, Ice Tribe village

-Preserved giant tree stumps = Tesara, Jungle Tribe village

-Underground Lab of Great Beings = near Tajun, Water Tribe village

-Southern Volcano = Vulcanus, Fire Tribe village

The only non-canon part of this map is Rogatio's village. Rogatio is the Agori deputy who arrests the protagonist at the beginning of the story; the protagonist's first waking moments occur not far to the north of that village at the southern edge of the Great Jungle. Included to give a sense of where it is in relation to the Great Beings' Tower (Valley of the Maze future site), where he is taken next. The deputy is pictured here: bonesiii.deviantart.com/art/Bi…
