I don't mind there being a aff.net, as long as they moved all the porn crap from regular ff.net. And as for the age limits, what the hell are kids doing writing porn in the first place! It's disturbing, i say.

It's all those adolescent hormones. They're all wound up with nowhere to go. Kind of like all that angst that gets released with emo poetry. 8D

Yeah, I’ve seen some great stuff there too. I'm a firm believer in fanfiction being good training for perspective writers. I write it myself. But there's usually a lot of trash to sort through before you find the gems, at least in the fandoms I’ve looked through.

It still amazes me that some of the most popular stories in some places are terribly written mary sue romances. I really don't understand how it gets that popular. Especially when every second word is misspelled.
Although there's every possibility that those 113 reviews are in fact mostly flames.

But yeah, ff.net can be a real nurturing place. Except for the trolls. I wish there was a way to pre-emptively deal with those people.

Lol, myspace is such crap these days. Everyone seems to have migrated over to facebook.

I guess fandom is made up of more rabid fangirls then people who actually like writing. They might also be 12 and just want attention. XD

I wasn't allowed to even have a myspace, and then a facebook for a while. Then mom kinda caved and I just went straight to fb. It's nicer than the other ones, I think.

True, but the rabid 12 yr olds can be useful. I'm under the impression that half my readers on ff.net may be such people, in which case, i'm more than happy for them to spam me with positive reviews XD

Yeah. facebook has more class. Myspace seems to be all about taking slutty pictures and having other people comment on how drunk you look. Oh, and music.

Yes, in contrast to the "OMG LIEK YOU SUXORZZZ" the "OMG LIEK U R SOOO AHHHHSUM!!!!" comments are pretty awesome ego boosters.

I still don't really get the music and myspace connection, but maybe that's because I'm only now getting around to learning guitar. FB used to be only for college students. It got opened to everyone a few years ago, I think.

XD So are you talking crack ships then? Naw, i reckon you should give it a go. I'm sure there are others out there who are looking for good fics like that, just like you are. And there's nothing to be afraid of in writing fanfiction. You're all anonymous on the internet, and as for trolls, i've only ever come across one, in my 5 years of being on ff.net. And that was several years back.

lol, thankfully my reviews aren't capslock crazy and seem to have reliatively good grammar skills. They must be slightly older then, like 13 instead of 12 XD And some of the comments are really nice. I recently had someone say i was one of the best comedic writers they've come across. But this of course makes me wonder how much comedic writing they've actually read, lol XD But it was incredibly flattering none the less.

Yeah, it's more that most bands will have a myspace page where they can showcase their music and connect with fans. And there's a widget that lets you have a music player on your profile.

Yeah, lol, college students. Thats true. Whenever i'm in the computer room at uni, 9/10 people will have facebook open XD

Yeah, i get that, but fanfiction is great writing practice. That's what i use it for.

unfortunately, that's pretty common. I didn't get all that many reviews until lately. I guess it kinda hinges on how popular (or unpopular) the fandom is that you're writing in. And wether you're writing shameless trash with self-insert mary-sues or not. XD (funnily enough, those are the most popular stories that i've noticed)

No, you can only select music that's on Myspace for your profile. Like, you go to the profile of the band you want, and select a song from their playlist and click the little button that imports it to *your* playlist.
Kinda annoying. Some of my favourite bands don't have myspace pages.

Yeah...the first two years are focused mainly on traditional media and getting down the different aspects of design and all that good stuff. XD Junior and Senior year are spent with the computers and programming and 3D animation. My college also kicks all of their students out for half of junior year to intern or study abroad or another university. I'm hoping to get an internship at Pixar or something when the time comes.
