this is a piece that's deeply personal to me. it's based off a drawing I made of the same name when I was 11, and I made it into a brand-new piece in 2017. I've submitted this exact image to DA under a different username, so please don't be alarmed if you recognize it; this is still me.
I love Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I love Katara. as a child, I was severely traumatized and mentally ill. I would vividly hallucinate specters of my fears at night. when Avatar premiered, those haunting images were replaced with the beauty and harmony of humanity's spiritual connection with nature. I can never thank Avatar enough for the years of comfort it provided for me.
