Affinity for infinity, a desire for immortality, to persist beyond my biological lifespan. To me it feels like it’s a part of my human programing, an inescapable desire to leave traces of my essence, of my time on this earth that will outlive me in some ways, such as my children one day, my life’s work, and everyone that I have positively impacted in some way. My essence will live as long as the last person that utters my name. A fascinating thought. But that contemplation makes me feel like I have to be very intentional with my actions and my words and how I can, to the best of my ability, positively impact and shape others. Deep down, joy, love, sincere connection with other human beings is really all that matters to me.
