Some time ago, as I was trying to figure out what I want to focus on with my art, I experimented making some animal artwork as a way to talk about philosophical topics. Most of them were based around absurdism, which is a philosophy based on the belief that the universe is irrational and meaningless and that the search for order brings the individual into conflict with the universe. In essence I was attempting to discuss the strange complexity of being a human, and doing it through some absurd, humorous means. It was a fun experiment. Thats something Ive been thinking about a lot lately, how to rekindle that childlike, uninhibited way of creating art. I think this piece is about the strangeness in striving perfection, and how closely wrapped up those pursuits are with the ego’s desire for control.✨
