When I was a young boy I had a tree house. Nothing special, wasn't even attached to a tree. Just a freestanding structure for me to climb on. Over the years this tree house saw a lot of ware and tear. For Christmas one year I received a B.B. gun. A Red Ryder B.B. Gun, yes the kind that will shoot your eye out. Well the only thing I was allowed to shoot at besides birds was my tree house. Well over the years this wonderful structure became pretty rickety and we decided it was hazardous. So we tore it down and piled the wood on the edge of our property. There it sat for the next 15 years, till I decided to do something with it. The wood was well weathered and rotting in some places. Many splinters and a fair amount of sanding, this old tree house now exists as a respectable night stand. Look close enough and you can still see the marks my younger self left, including some B.B.s. I made this using almost all reclaimed wood. The only new parts are the paneling on the inside and a small bar at the top I inlayed some LED lights into.
