Even though I haven't reread it in like 8 years, Ranma is still one of my favorite manga series to date. Most people I speak to in the anime/manga communities tend to roll their eyes and tell me that's because it was either my first anime, or that it's because I'm old. The reason I like it so much though is because Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma stories tend to be so very difficult to reverse engineer: if I take any given storyline and try to imagine how she would've gone about building it, I have an extremely difficult time. It's like she lets chaos dictate the story's direction, and if there's one thing I like it's a story that hits me with things I can't see coming.

As for why he's upside down, he does have a habit of getting catapulted into the sky a lot. I figure he's got a lot of time to think about things way up there.
