I received an odd commission request at Otafest: a drawing of a steampunk character. Not odd in an of itself, mind you. But that was the extent of my information to go on. Which essentially made this a design project rather than a standard commission. I figured if I was gonna make a new character, I may as well draw a robot. Hence this guy was born.

I call him Arlington (Arlo for short). His core generates enough power for him to think and speak (via voicebox under his grill); the harder he thinks, the more exhaust his hat releases. His single arm ends in a cane. His core rests on a swivel base, which in turn rests on three greased spheres (he is obviously only designed for use inside and on flat, clear surfaces). Probably a librarian or archivist of some sort.
