There was little they could do but wait for the jailers to return. Wait and dread for that moment,for they knew what those men would do to them. She tried to get her hands free of the rope that bound them above her head, but the jailers had done their work well. And even if she could get her hands free, there was the cage that held her. Which left her little room to do more than stand in it.
