Shadow Empire: February of 37 B.C.
Zohali and Clementine sat where they had once a year ago, as cubs. That year seemed to have been a lifetime ago for them, but even though the two have undoubtedly changed over the seasons through trial and tragedy, one thing had remained certain between them. This fondness. This gentle warmth that resonated whenever they were near.
It started as a silly little promise, a year ago in this same spot. Nerves of a growing responsibility gave way to Clementine's suggestion. "I think we should make a deal," They declared. "We have to share a meal at least once a day! If we're too busy, that's okay because we'll also sleep next to each other!" And between the hard work and maintenance of personal lives, they honored that promise, it being like second nature at this point for them.
How funny it was that this closeness blossomed into a wave of warm and complex feelings. Confusing as it could be, they embraced this coming change, always together.
