Hey, listen to this song while you read if you'd like, it sets a great mood.www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN5ILY…
The sun shined gently through the window beside two empty hospital beds, spreading across the sheets, as a man sat silently in a chair in the corner.
His long dark bangs hung over his face as he held his face low, his eyes open, so green, yet so empty and lifeless... The man slouched over in his seat, rubbing his tired face with cold hands.
"Excuse me?" A voice entered the room quietly. The man slowly looked up from the floor, his gaze falling upon a young boy in a hospital gown.
"Are you alright sir?" The child coughed softly and stepped into the room, pulling an IV with him. "You look really upset..." The boy was very skinny, chemo therapy does that to you. The man looked at the boy, smiling softly, tears brimming his eyes.
"I... I think I'll be alright... Why don't you have a seat with me? What's your name?"
"I'm Andrew, what's yours?" The boy sat down slowly onto the bed, shaking slightly as he lowered himself. The man held back tears and had an odd mixed look on his face. His eyes were no longer lifeless, but filled with strong emotions, pain, excitement, despair, joy, the strange expression confused Andrew slightly.
"My... My name George... It's good to fin–... It's nice to meet you Andrew." The man at last replied, smiling widely at the young man.
They both sat silently for a moment, George had stopped the tears in his eyes as watched the boy happily. Andrew pondered for a moment, breaking the awkward silence in the room for himself.
"Why're you in my room Mister George?" The man stopped at this, biting his lip softly, before making an attempt at regaining his composure.
"My son is staying in this room, I was just waiting for him to come in here..."
"How old is he?"
"He's about your age... I've only just met him really... His mother never told me he was born..." Andrew nodded slowly at this, frowning some, becoming crestfallen.
"I don't have a dad, Mom said that he was a busy man and she worried we weren't worth the time..." At that, George couldn't help, but have a few tears fall from his eyes.
"A son... Is always worth his fathers time..."He said softly, standing up and ruffling the boys hair gently and leaving the room. As George stepped out into the hall, a woman patted his arm gently.
"Did you meet him?" George nodded silently, tears falling slowly, from the once tall strong man, the CEO of a phone company.
"I haven't told him yet though... I'm worried he'll resent me..."
"You're his father... He'll love you no matter what" The woman said, petting his arm assuringly. "Does this mean you'll help us?"
George held the hands of the girl he fell in love with five years ago and said
"I won't let my new family die..."
