"Are you dead? Did I getcha?" The cub grinned widely as Locust blearily opened one eye, squinting in the last rays of light. "Hmm? Oh, yes. Very dead. Couldn't be any deader." The cub huffed and rolled his eyes. "You can't *talk* if you're dead." Locust, deciding the conversation had gone on long enough, rolled and pinned the younger Niravar under his side. He closed his eyes again and smiled as the cub, laughing, clawed out from under him and settled in for an evening nap with his babysitter.
