Just an explanation, since it seems that a lot of people need it
Oh, and now they made a change - they added more badges, and made some of them easier to get. The new list is a follows:
Llama = 1
Super Llama = 10
Albino Llama = 50
Super Albino Llama = 100
Ninja Llama = 500
Fancy Llama = 1,000
King Llama = 2,500
Spartan Llama = 5,000
Wizard Llama = 7,500
Golden Llama = 10,000

no, you don't loose any llamas if you give one away, you can give away thousands of llamas and it wont take away yours
