I bet there must have been a storm nearby. Storm clouds, properly called "Cumulonimbus" always form this shape. They grow very tall and reach a layer in the atmosphere that is really cold and prevents the cloud from getting taller, so the top spreads out instead.
Very nice photo, makes me wish I could fly right up to it.

wicked strom cloud. ive seen a couple of those myself. they look best in a sunrise/sunset. similar to this one

Really interesting cloudshape there, almost like a hand or something.
I find it a little wierd that you cut the house like that, perhaps should have shown more / less off the house...
I like it anyhow, it have a good feel to it. Nice warmth in the colours / atmosphere.
