Ive been dying to do a sci-fi monster piece for a long time now and this one has elements that ive been trying to incorporate into a composition for a long time.
I glanced at a few photos of various abandoned factories, camcorders and CDC biohazard suits for accuracy's sake, in addition to several close-up stills of a couple 80's horror movies used to get the expression I wanted for the foreground victim.

Now, aside from the monster, I love how the guys' contamination suits look spot-on; I'm loving that oxygen pack on the left! And the look of horror on that guy's face is great.
"Don't just stand there with that camcorder- HELP ME!!!"
On a side note, he looks a little like Harrison Ford, a thought I find most amusing.

Awesome work, and conveys a great feeling of dread. I especially like your attention to detail in the little things, such as the front scientist's hand casting a shadow on his suit (you can only see the thumb shadow), and what I think is breath mist on the inside of his suit visor. The monitor screen is a touch of brilliance - I love the video glitching effect; the battery life icon is a nice touch I would never have thought of. The intricate detailing on the pipework is superb, particularly on the right with the individual bolts etc. Love it!
Inspiring stuff - I really, really should get off my backside and start trying this kind of painting style. Thanks for motivating me to think about it. Faved!

This is just all-around awesomeness! Looks like something that could be part of the opening sequence for a Resident Evil sequel... and I love me some RE.

I still come here every 10 minutes or so just to... watch... to stare, to glance, to look at it. There it is, the passionate art that I have been looking for.
You take it seriously, but you also ensure having fun along the way, and it is so great to just sit here and watch the image. I still sit here and try to get your techniques, your ways of painting, the brushstrokes, the pattern. But it is a hard piece to figure out.
So, you are painting with the help of passion ,- it is alive, it is a shivering painting, on the brink of perfection, no wait - it IS perfection!
The camera-angle, the intense progressing of the monster, and the terrifying "get us outta' here" just yields out from the men who are victims to such a horrid and repulsive creature.
When you insert the camera-angle, you take us, the audience, into a fantastic and thrilling rollercoaster. It even feels like we are a part of the crew investigating the area.
But we are, aren't we?
