The ‘non democratic’ Parliament of Wessex is dissolved, with the Parliament in Nottingham taking on the lawmaking powers for Wessex. There are protests in Winchester, but Nottingham ignores them. Gunpowder Night in Winchester is tense, but there are no riots.
Galicia is annexed by Spain following a referendum early in the year. (A dictatorship had been overthrown in the past several years.)

Russia annexes the Siberian Republic, a state that had broken away from the former Russian Empire around a century earlier.

The Papuan War continues.
