Lore:

Virollt are giant, monstrous scavengers that can be found all over the world. Few in number, but long in lifespan, virollts are solitary creatures that live in isolation in the wilderness. These gluttonous beasts are a scourge on whatever area they live in; hunting an area empty of game, and tearing the landscape apart for their own purposes. Virollt are scavengers that love to hoard objects that have interesting shapes and colors. They are particularly fond of wood and colorful plants.

When a virollt makes its lair too close to a village or town, their ravenous, wasteful, destructive nature becomes a terrible bane on the people living there. Such virollt will often wander into town, ripping apart wooden structures and casually stealing livestock. Virollt particularly love colorful cloth, as it appeals to their love of colorful plants, but doesn't whither like a plant does. Virollt are usually not hostile to people if left alone and allowed to pillage and destroy uninterrupted, but they will fly into a rage if any attempt is made to stop them or get in their way. Such rampages are horrific, often leaving dozens dead and entire chunks of town leveled to the ground.

Virollt are far from intelligent, but are capable of simple speech, and smart enough to use simple tools. Most commonly, they are fond of throwing objects, or using makeshift slings to hunt prey. They decorate their lairs with their pillaged goods, trying to create impressive displays (impressive for virollts, at least) for they day they eventually seek out a mate.

Virollt have an incredible sense of smell that they use to track down food, and other virollt to mate with. They have very thick skin and are very resilient to pain. They are, however, very susceptible to cold. As virollts hibernate in the winter, cold causes them to become fatigued and sleepy. A large amount of cold at once, such as that from ice magic, can actually stun or even put a virollt to sleep, making them vulnerable to attack; a tactic exploited to the fullest by any monster hunter worth their salt.
