Ever since Serena was a child, she'd been in the sidelines. Whereas her older sister, May would always get the desired attention. She was considered the most beautiful girl according to the majority of Hoenn, so Serena supposes it shouldn't have been a surprise. With that being so, May was asked out by guys quite often.
It never seemed to bother Serena, as she was never really interested in romance with anyone... Until she met a certain boy during one of her usual outings. His name was Drew, and she'd thought he was amazing in every sense. He'd always make time for her when he could, something she'd never been used to. And as time went on, of course, she'd found herself falling in love with him.
But when she finally gained the courage to tell him of her feelings, to her horror, she'd found him charming her sister. Perhaps she was doomed to remain on the sidelines.

*For the next week, Serena goes out each day and meets up with Drew, talking with him and even helping him tend to the roses. The two grow very close very quickly. Meanwhile May and Ash had been going out all week, but one night had gotten into a fight and broken up. Though Serena wasn't paying much attention to them anymore. The night after their fight, Serena was in her room for the night, pacing around trying to gather her courage*
: This is it...tomorrow I'm going to tell him that I have feelings for him... *takes a deep breath* Just be brave...he probably likes you too...now the only thing you can do is get a good night's sleep... *she lays down and goes to sleep but around midnight is woken up my the sound of her sister making out with a guy in her room. She groans in annoyance* Well that was a quick make up... *gets up out of bed and storms to May's room* May! I've told you a hundred times if you're going to make out all night with your boyfriend do it quiet- *opens the door and gasps*
