    I blurted out in laughter as this was a challenge and Lilith wouldn’t be able win this battle. “You’re a damn fool.” I said.

    Lilith didn’t take that comment too well and rushed me. I doubt that Nathan would have been able to see it as he is still very young as a vampire, but I did. I was able to easily catch the woman by the neck and lift her up by it with my right hand.

    “You bitch.” She gasped out.

    “You have some nerve to come here and killed our donor, ruined our date, and foolishly challenge someone who has you totally out classed.” I roared out in anger. “I suggest that you take this time to go back to where you came from before I decide to rip your head off.” I finished by throwing her away from us and the bench where Carla’s corpse lay.

    Lilith landed on her rear about fifteen yards away and grabbing her neck. “I will make your life here a living Hell. Everything you have worked so hard for and care for will be ashes when I get through with you.” I rushed over to her and was ready to pounce on Lilith but I held back. I allowed Lilith to back away and get up to her feet and ran off into the night. “This isn’t over.” Lilith said as her final words.

    I watched her run away as I allowed Nathan to run over to Carla. I know he wanted to help her but he couldn’t. I could hear no heartbeat. Carla is dead and there is nothing we can do about it. Nathan kneeled on the ground next to her and check for a pulse for any hope that she could be alive.

    When it was clear, I joined Nathan as I could feel his pain. “There is nothing we can do for the poor girl. We need to leave her here. At least she will get a proper funeral.” Melancholy filled my voice as I put my hand upon his shoulder.
