well the bends relates the the loss of pressure in the gasses of the body. but I'm taking in water not air. being a Newtonian liquid it does not suffer from the expansion problems caused by breathing gas form oxygen :]. It's why they want to develop liquid breathing suites for diving * I think they kinda did once I cannot remember*.
