I think Bleck asked Dimento to pass him the Dark Pro-whatsit (I can't spell it, sorry!), Dimmy passed him Mimi's diary instead, and Bleck just read it automatically thinking it was the Dark Pro-whatsit, until he realized it was in Mimi's hand writing, and by then it was too late.
