I wanted to like "Raya and the Last Dragon", I really did but it just didn't stick the landing. So the theme of the movie is trusting others, but I think it should have been about balance. Raya doesn't trust people and she has her past experiences backing her up. Sisu is too trusting and it nearly cost her, her life. Had the movie been more about Raya opening up and realizing there ARE people she can trust, and Sisu understanding that there are people that don't have her best interests at heart, I might have liked it better. To their credit the creators and animators had to finish this film during quarantine. It could have been much worse but I still can't say I like this one.
