To me it feels like the new trilogy is kind of hit and miss. There are some aspects that are really good, and others that kind of suck. "Force Awakens" was entertaining and was a nice return to form for star wars, "Last Jedi" was awful it had way too many tangents, and it focused on the wrong things, "Rise of Skywalker" was okay at best. I think its biggest issue with it is inconsistency, if it had the same director and writers it might have been better. They are still better than the prequels, but they also could have been a lot better.

Rey is kind of a bland character, there's not really any character growth. It feels like she's the exactly the same throughout the films. This is not Daisy Riddley's fault, shes doing the best she can with the direction she's been given. That being said I do wish her luck with her career, because I think if she's matched with the right director she'll be just fine.
