Firebending drills, along with studying to be a Princess -- and future Fire Lord -- would definitely take the fun out of childhood. Then again, Azula was never "a regular kid": she seemed to enjoy learning about military strategy and honing her skills... if, for no other reason, to rub her prodigal skills in Zuko's face. Anyway, she looks so sad here... maybe she just doesn't want to hang around two creepy old ladies anymore.
Your style is so lifelike, yet you keep true to the original character designs. Your grasp of realism is applaudable!

Azula is capricious in nature. I think that Azula pleased to acquire knowledge and skills, but she does not like when the opposing old teach her life. *) This is not like even "normal children". ^____^

Я, кстати, все пытаюсь понять отношение этих бабок к ученице и не могу ухватить. С одной стороны - учить надо, куда деваться. С другой... Они не могут забивать на ее психическое состояние. В конце концов она - мощный маг, которого они обучают высшей магии. Они не могут не понимать, КОМУ передают свои знания и умения. И должны были бы хотя бы в раннем детстве пытаться выправить ее мозги.
С третьей стороны, сами-то они на всё в жизни кроме магии забили, по большому счету. Они умеют жить полнее, чем Азула, но ненамного
Короче, странно с ними все %). Не могу связно написать, потому что в мыслях пока ясности по этому вопросу не наблюдается *)).

Скажем так, они огневики, родившиеся после искажения доктрины Огня Созином *). Так-то, насколько понимаю, отличительная черта Огневиков - повышенная эмоциональность, а не раздолбайство или агрессивность %))
