It's not every day that you see colors that compliment each other so well in a photograph. The vivid mix of greens and reds is simply stunning.
I love the depth and focus as well, very interesting shot, especially the subject of berries!

reminds me of those scenes in christmas cards where they have these perfect berries, all red and just perfect. also reminds me of those big traditional christmas dinners where there house is all green and red with holly and decorations, and a fire place...and a big baked dinner...all warm and cosy...

:very nice macro. I'm into macro photography too and this is a fine example, could almost make a Christmas card photo. I agree that a different view point could be taken, worth a go if those berries haven't been nibbled by pesky liddle birds . Very nice

hmm... I want to critique this as though I was in class, and not in part to it's dd.
Things I like:
Colors, green and red are complementary, and therefore very dynamic in style. Repetition, obviously in the sense of 2d, repetition is often good. Selective focus, even though it's a bit easier with macros, good job in any case.
Things I dont particularly like:
Organization: I'm cant say yes or no, but there could have been a more intersesting solution to the composition. It's shooting almost straight across and that makes it very static.
Suggestions:
Here are the things I think could be improved at least to my opinion.
Dynamics: Try angling your camera off so to that the colors go hand in hand with the subject, dynamic colors with dynamic composition.
Try grouping some berries together, out of focus ones grouped and in focus ones grouped, it just makes for focal points.
Selective Focus: Although you show it here, I say play around with it a bit and find creative solutions to focus. Such as focus on middle berries so that berries in front of and behind your selections are out of focus.
But on all and all, good job

Wow I canβt believe this photo is the Daily Deviant pick. Thanks guys for all the great comments I just found out about this site and so I posted a ton of pictures in the Digital 3D section and Photography section. I never thought that this one would get featured on the front page. I am new at this and have only been doing this for a few weeks.
