Here is the beautiful adopt I got from ADragonsRevenge ! I put it in a base so I could view it easier when drawing it later! Thank you AkumaouKurokagi for covering the last three points for me to get this amazing hybrid!

**Notice: With this base I was unable to portray her V-shaped scales. They look like circles on this base, but because of her IceWing heritage she has many pointy scales as shown by this image: sta.sh/014r9i5uuog7 **
Name: Dragonfly
Gender: Female
Species: RainWing + IceWing Hybrid
Abilities:
- Can camouflage but only in hues of blue and white
- Cannot do venom
- Can only ice breath if cold enough- must be shivering to produce ice.
Appearance:
- Extremely sharp claws like purebred IceWings'
- Whip thin tail that is still able to curl around trees like purebred RainWings'
- Due to a mutation in breeding, her tongue is constantly changing colors, this is the only part of her body that is able to become hues of colors other than blue, and she cannot control the colors in her tongue
Personality:
Dragonfly is extremely good at getting out of situations that she doesn't want to be in. However, once in an environment where she feels welcome, she will be the first to reach out and be your friend. She will never intentionally place herself in situations where she has multiple people's attention- she never wants to be on the radar. As an outcast, she learned to slip into the background, but she can't do it for very long. She has feelings too and needs a few close dragon friends to rely on when she needs support. Though very secretive to the general public, Dragonfly can be a supportive friend and a valuable ally.
Backstory/ How She Came To Be:
Dragonfly's mother, a RainWing named Epiphyte, and her father, an IceWing named Boreas, met each other together at a SandWing festival. Boreas had decided to travel to the Kingdom of Sand as a tourist, because he was from a wealthy family and wanted to travel the world. Epiphyte, however, was there on a mission. Her sister had been poisoned by a rogue SandWing and she needed the cactus juice to heal her wound.
However, on the way to the cactus groves, she ran into Boreas and was struck by his handsomeness. He was taken with her compassion and generosity, and both of them found themselves in love. They met every year, in the autumn season, in the northern area of the Sand Wing territory. This was because any more north, Epiphyte would die of hypothermia and any more south Boreas would die of heatstroke.
They eloped and lived together for about 5 years. Neither one had told their families that they had met the other. After a while, the communication was cut, and both families believed them to have ditched.
They had an egg together, one whose shell was a sparkly white. This indicated it may have had more IceWing in it. Suddenly, Epiphyte was poisoned as part of a plot against mixed species relationships. She fell deathly ill and believed she would die. Her intended last wish was that Boreas and their dragonet would live with his rich family in the Ice Kingdom.
However, disaster struck. Their home was being burned to the ground by malicious SandWings, and Epiphyte demanded that he take their egg and flee to the Kingdom of Ice. After much resistance, Boreas relented, leaving his paralyzed mate in their home while it collapsed. Struck with sorrow and determination, he set out to IceWing territory.
At the end of his journey, Boreas encountered the wall of shooting spikes that protects the Ice Kingdom from all unwanted visitors. He hesitated. Would the RainWing blood throw off the animus magic and kill them both? Night was falling and he knew he didn't have much of a choice. The egg needed to be kept warm, and this far north it was only possible in the Kingdom.
He continued forward. Silence ensued.
Suddenly, out of the eerie twilight, a quiet spear of ice flew past him, narrowly missing his egg. Boreas realized with dread that their plan would not work. As he examined the egg to make sure it was intact, he noticed it had become still and cold. The dragonet had succumbed to the freezing temperatures of the north. Overcome with grief, he started to fall out of the sky. He had given up hope. His family had disowned him, his mate had died, and now the last fragment he had of Epiphyte was gone.
Boreas buried the egg in the snow, and placed a rock as a makeshift headstone. After grieving both his egg and its deceased mother, he flew East towards the SkyWing mountains to live a solitary life. Days later, The egg was found by an IceWing patrol, buried in the snow. After realizing that the wall would not permit then to pass with the egg, they realized it was hybrid. It was taken to a doctor in the Sand Kingdom who realized that it was on the brink of death- but still alive. He carefully revived it, keeping it warmer because of its RainWing blood.
Meanwhile, Epipythe had been rescued by a MudWing named Bog who had raced into the fire. He had come to her aid after he had been patrolling the region and noticed several SandWings running suspiciously from the far end of town.
He was tending to her wounds one evening when news reached them that an IceWing egg had been found and abandoned. Epipythe, overcome with hope but in a paralyzed state, urged Bog to bring the egg back to her. The doctor brought the egg to its mother, and verified that it was hers.
Many months later, the egg hatched. Her mother was overwhelmed with joy and named her dragonet Dragonfly, because dragonflies symbolize the ability to change and overcome.
Dragonfly Interactions:
Dragonfly stared off into the desert horizon, contemplating. She often enjoyed spending time by herself, and since she lived in a quite populous area of the dragon realm, that was difficult to do. She knew she wouldn't have many moments of this peaceful, quiet serenity. She breathed in, feeling her light blue underbelly fill with the dry, sandy air. She exhaled, feeling a rush of cool air from her icy lungs and her blue tinted wings relaxed.
Ah. Tranquility.
Suddenly, playful screams echoed across the desert plain. Dragonfly inhaled sharply, but caught some dust in her lungs. She coughed just as two young dragonets bounded around the bend.
"Eew!! Sick dragon!" One of the younglings, a rusty mottled color, yelled in a high pitched voice.
The other, a sand colored one, screamed loudly. "A zombie! A zombie dragon! She will kill us and eat our brains and stuff our skulls with candy!"
Dragonfly's ears lowered in disgust and shock, but she hid the emotions from the kids. "Hello, darlings! Don't worry, I would never hurt you beautiful creatures!" She said cooed. "Where are your mothers?"
"At home! Mommy said we have a day off!" One of the dragonets screeched in joy.
The other jumped in elation. "OH my goodness! Did you know the festival is tomorrow!?"
She smiled. "I did! It sounds like it will be a lovely time. Are you making any lanterns?" She asked politely.
"Yes!" They both shouted in unison. The sand colored dragonet closed her eyes. "I can see it now, a bright sun and dragons flying happily in the sky. It will be the best lantern!!"
"Nuh-Uh!" The mud colored dragon said, spreading his wings. "Mine will be the coolest! The three moons high in the sky, and me with my mommy happy because she is nice!"
The two started to screech loudly, and Dragonfly carefully stepped in. "Lovelies," she said, "I heard the winner of the best lantern contest will be announced tomorrow at sundown... better get started on those beautiful objects of light!"
"But we don't know where to start!" The mud colored dragonet complained.
The sand colored kid screeched. "Wait, I didn't know it was tomorrow night!"
"Oh? Better get ready!" She said in a most pleasant tone, and spread her wings. "I must go now. Take care!"
The young dragonets called out to her. She could hear, "Byeeee!" And "Have a great day, blue lady dragon!" as she departed.
Dragonfly sighed. Dealing with people was tiring, especially little kids. And even though this exchange had been short, it had taken quite the toll on her.
Luckily, the kids couldn't fly or follow her. She swooped high over the palm trees and cacti of the captivating desert wasteland and touched down outside her cave home. She was pleasantly surprised when she found her mother, Epiphyte, waiting for her.
"Mom!" She said in greeting, rushing over to meet her.
The elderly dragon smiled, and limped over to her daughter. "My beautiful Dragonfly!" She said as she hugged her. "Are you ready to go shopping? I spotted some beautiful sea glass necklaces we could wear to the festival!"
"Absolutely!" She said in excitement.
Dragonfly didn't always enjoy having to spend time with other dragons, but there were some she did genuinely look forward to visiting. She was sure this shopping adventure with her mother was going to be amazing and bring her joy. Just like always.
