from what i read, there are 3 differences.
-both games have different modes.
-3ds has stages based off of platform games. wii u has console stages.
-the 3ds has a zoomed out battlefield, but outlined characters you can see in 3d. the wii u has a different camera, and can be seen at hi def.

im only going to help clarify something im not bashing you or anything but back in the day in my personal experience Capcom was known for 3 good selling IP's.
Resident Evil
Street Fighter
Megaman
Yes they do more with Street Fighter due to my understandings
a) money maker because fighting games hit mainstream possibly because of Street Fighter
b) best well made fighting series to last more than one game outside of MK.
Also in technical standpoints in terms of sales figured RE has gone down the drain since 5 and 6...

So as weird as it sounds I do like Megaman and I can understand the rage the owner has but as I said I am here merely to clarify somethings not bash you if I have done so.
Because honestly I myself have been a dual fan. Megaman and Sonic are tops of mine, Tekken and Street Fighter tie in as well but deep down im an MK fan. Always has been.

That's what you think. Let's see, they will be able to fight in the new Super Smash Bros. and Sonic has Super Form, Hyper Form, and a True Hyper Form while Mega Man only carries different weapons relying on his armor while Sonic uses his natural self. Care to argue against me?

Ok hello again. Once more clarification is in order.
From both personal views for each of those games I can understand your anger. The series really didn't hit the stride til Megaman 2/3 which is some of the in terms of hardcore megaman fans the 'best' games of Classic series. Megaman 1 was rather hard. I may have played the Japanesse version due to PSN but even then i couldn't beat Gutsman's stage.
Megaman 1 did suck. Project X Zone albeit his future form X and his partner Zero are in it, I don't consider it a Megaman game, his moves are all from the X games which a lot of people consider the better of 'Classic' or 'X' series.
Never did get a chance to play Dr. Wily's Revenge but i heard it was meh
