I picked up "The Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid" a couple days ago... I'm still only about 10 chapters in, I've been busy. But I love it already, so have some art. Sadie and Carter (and Muffin)... just a sketch I cleaned up and put some flat colors onto.Characters are (C) RR and Disney.

Well, this first book is kind of "It's Percy Jackson - BUT WITH EGYPTIANS!!" but the first Percy Jackson book was "Harry Potter - WITH GREEK GODS!" so I think when/if we get a second book in the series (AND I HOPE WE DO!) I have faith Riordan will find the new path he wants to make with this series.

I DON'T KNOW. It's a toss-up between Bast and Anubis, though I am totally in artistic love with the description he gave for Nut. I think I like Sadie a little more than Carter - GIRL POWER! - but gosh it's hard to choose. I love everyone so much!

Sadies not bad but she can be a little annoying not thinking about how hard Carters life was being on the rode with his father instead of being with his family.

And he idealized her life in a house with her grandparents instead of being with her brother and her dad. They both thought the other one "had it better" because, well, they're kids.

Hopefully by the end of the book they will look past that and work together for once.

i just got it yesterday and when i read i have to have 'specail' bookmarks YDD and i wanted a picture of them
but i couldnt find any yesterday but i realized that i had bought a cool bookmark when i went to a museum that would be perfect enough *_*

I wanted to do that at first too, but when I was rereading the descriptions to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything, Carter complains that even though he's older Sadie is the same height.

That could be why, then! I wouldn't know, I actually know very little about Egypt Mythos compared to Greek Mythos. Admittedly, this is awesome because the downside about knowing the 'source material' too well is that when RR makes the occasional mistake* it's very jarring for me. IDK more than the basics about the Egyptians, so I don't have to worry about those moments.
* Plz note, RR is AMAZINGLY GOOD about not giving me those moments, and they are usually about the more obscure things
