So after a lot of thought, I finally settled on Ridley being Flowey. This was such a decisive move, because I had about 6 question marks, where someone could have been more than one option. But firmly putting Ridley in Flowey prevents him from being ASGORE, and the Metroid Prime / Dark Samus from being Flowey. At any rate, the parallelism: Flowey is a psychopathic character who just wants to kill everyone for the heck of it. Ridley likewise invaded Samus' home planet, K2-L, and killed everyone but her, just for the heck of it, and loves death and is sadistic just like Flowey.
