That's awesome, as usual. You put a lot of thought and work on your pixelations. The only two issues I have with this picture are, try to eliminate the inner black outlining on the wall. That'll make the walls look smoother and more realistic and, as ~cellpro said, the floor is too overshadowed. Try to lower the contrast of it. Remember that what has to stand out from the scene are the characters, not the background.

DAMN, thats sweet! The only thing i can see is that the floor pannels look a little over shadowed / over defined. Thats just my opinion though.

Tenchu is an all-time favorite for me also. The scene looks very good and very tenchu-ish. Lighting/darkness is a must for your second version, but you already knew that. Personally I would have gone for a rooftop scene, but that's just individual preference.
