Post 1986 Movie......Still can't believe Prowl, Ratchet, Ironhide, and even OP died in that movie....
I was so relieved when Jazz survivied, but.....
I think it's worse to face the fact that your friends are all dead and the freaking war is still NOT over...>

It is happening again... The long talk about Prowl and Co.'s death... I have my opinion written elsewhere already which is pretty similar of ~Taliesin-Kyoshi's.
But I'm always hit by fanart and fics newly found, and I have to suffer the lost over and over. Did they ever think about, the producers and writers of that '86 movie, what pain they would cause?!
Those characters exists only in fantasy, still we fans consider them alive, ready to live and love. Their deaths are as real as a RL friend's ... sorry, I feel that way.
So I have to save myself having a good healthy paralel universe - or sharing ~Taliesin-Kyoshi's point of view! XD!

What pissed me off is not the fact that they are dead, it's the way they died....without a word (except Ironhide....=x
I'm guessing the producers then was just worrying about getting the new characters out (ex: Galvatron), and not really concern about the G1 fans....
I can't agree more with you on that one, maybe they ARE 2D characters, but our love for them are always real!!! So reviving them may be a good coping mechanism

Believe me, I wasn't happy when they all died (also when we can see Wheeljack's dead body). But one thing is amusing me in that moments... Prowl and Ratchet doesn't get ANY line in the whole movie, and Prowl's been pwned in 7th minute of the movie

Yeah, lots of characters either die or never seen again after the 1986 movie. Wheeljack and Windcharger die in the movie, too, and Wheeljack's death makes me soooob. Brawn dies with Ironhide, Ratchet, and Prowl, and I must say that Prowl's death is really really really sad. Very graphic and somewhat disturbing. When I first saw it, back when I wasn't that familiar with the characters, I was like 'OH MY GOD! WHO JUST DIED LIKE THAT???' TT_TT Very very sad. Starscream dies, too, as well as Thundercracker, Skywarp, and quite a few other Decepticons.
Really, though, if you can get over the fact that a lot of the original characters die, and they bring in all these rookies that a lot of people just don't like that much (because they were replacing their favorites, really) then it's actually a really good movie. Even though there are a lot of deaths, I really enjoy it. Bought it a couple of weeks ago in a moment of retail therapy when I couldn't get my hands on a Masterpiece Starscream because all the scalpers in town had snatched them up. TT_TT

Jazz had no role in any of the G1 cartoon after the movie because his voice-actor died and they couldn't find anyone to replace him.
That's why Jazz has a few cameo spots in season 3, but we never hear him talk
