It's intentional. ^_^ It was purposely drawn to look like Usagi's dress, I don't remember the exact reasons why off hand. Too tired to look it up. XD

According to the wikipedia, Fionna's dress was in fact inspired by Sailor Moon's dress.

I know, Natasha Allegri said so herself. The whole episode is inspired by Sailor Moon.
And I used Prismacolor Markers~ All my traditional is Prismacolor Markers now. Use to use colored pencils but it's been a looong time since I used those, haha!

Nah, not Penn. It's the artist for the series, Natasha Allegriβ the whole Fionna and Cake was heavily influenced by Sailor Moon.
