Yes, the show is supposed to be about Ben, but he's fast losing his status as lead character. Observe:
1. He's already sharing the opening sequence with his teammates, something he didn't do in the original.
2. Kevin gets all the good lines (I think it must've been part of his contract for turning good).
3. The fangirls. All the fangirls. Poking around various websites and things, the number of message board topics relating to Ben himself, as opposed to Kevin and Gwen, is quite astoundingly low. Shoot, even episode discussion topics get derailed with the shipping...
4. This picture. It sums it up quite nicely.
Hopefully this next episode will get Ben more love...even if Julie does turn out to be an evil alien like some people have been suspecting... X3

Woah, woah, okay, dude, first of all, calm down. I don't appreciate your name calling.
Secondly, spoiled what? The fact that episode seven has Ben going on a date? That's in the TV guide description. It says, and I quote, "While Ben has a date with Julie, it is soon ruined when an alien named Ship makes trouble at the local fair." My suspicion that she could actually be evil is just that: a fan suspecting something. It's a theory, a guess, a prediction. It has no basis beyond my thoughts on what sort of plot twist the writers could enjoy throwing at us.
If the spoiler instead refers to kikikun's picture that I linked, let me state first that it says in her description that the picture is "based off Ben's last line". And I'd tell you that the picture doesn't actually happen, but that would be a spoiler. However, that episode aired two weeks ago. It's since become available for purchase on the iTunes TV show service, downloadable for free at Ben-10.net, and can be watched online at Veoh (it used to be on YouTube, but they took it down. It was also available to watch on Cartoon Network's website for the first week after it aired). If you haven't seen it, it's your own fault.
Also, I'm just jesting. Any fan who is so serious that they can't give their favorite series a few playful jabs or a poke in the ribs is far too much of a fan for the show's own good. I know the camera shouldn't be focussed on Ben 100% of the time; that's what you call ULTRA-BORING. But when the subplot has threatened to overwhelm the main plot (even if it's just in the minds of the fandom, who are really often quite silly), it's okay if you wanna make a little light fun of it.
Seriously, if I didn't like the show, I wouldn't be watching it. I wouldn't be looking at fanart on the internet, and my first comment to you would have probably looked something like, "Dude, the show is rotten. It's totally worse than the real Ben 10. Gimme back my old show, man!" Lighten up.

Ah, well, I do have a tendency to hit other people's buttons inadvertently.
And while I do respect the writers (I have neither the patience nor the talent to come up with a whole plot...mostly it's the patience. I get an idea and I'm like, "Hey, that's cool..." and then I get another idea and it has nothing to do with the previous idea), I like to poke fun at things. It's a friendly sort of picking, one of my own ways of saying, "Hey, this is cool enough that I can make fun of it and it's still fun." Some people, though, take it as insulting: you're not the first, and most likely won't be the last.
