Description
Just wanted to show you guys a little of my process for single-page comics (Sonic-related ones, anyway, and not A New Phase, I traditionally draw the outlines for that)…On the left is what I start with. It's fairly simple, but gives me the idea of poses for the characters. I may also put some of the dialogue in too so I don't forget specific lines that I liked. It helps because sometimes I make the outline, and then forget to finish the art for months, and by then I've forgotten what the dialogue was.
The outlining like this is usually done in MS Paint. Really messy and cheating by using the circle tool, I know.
On the right is the finished product. I didn't make a WIP for in the middle of the process. I usually do that in GIMP, because I'm still learning how to use Artdesk and GIMP is the program I have the most experience with.
I'll upload the finished product on its own tomorrow and put this in scraps at some point, but I wanted to show you a bit of my method.
Like I said, this is for the single-page comics and shorter ones. A New Phase is drawn with pencil and paper, scanned into the computer and then redone digitally in GIMP, and my transformers comics get a much more thorough first sketch.
