Yes. It had to be him. The wild, uncivilised one the village talked about. Hunter had heard tales of him, but had yet to come close to the squirrel like Smurf that lived in the forest. And now here he was, mere inches away. Strange, Hunter had imagined "Wild" Smurf to be somewhat more savage, no matter his good reputation. But there was no malice or predatory instinct in his eyes. Actually, Hunter was grateful to have found another face out here. Unlike his cousin, Tracker Smurf, he had not been blessed with such great navigational skills, and was totally, ashamedly, hopelessly lost. He'd been chasing a robin into the thicket that morning - Hunter had no real intention of hurting the creature, his lack of archery talent was somewhat ironic against his name, and most Smurfs were friend's to animals, although they occasionally took meat from their human friends.

But before he knew it, it was night, and the heavy thunderstorm was scaring him. He'd come to an open clearing, feeling defeated, accepting the rain - until it had suddenly stopped, and a dark shadow passed over him.

The wild Smurf made a small "prrp" and beckoned the other to follow him. Hunter looked around, but it was either this or catch Smurfmonia, so he figured he'd take the chance and hope Wild was at least a kind Smurf. After all, it was only a one off right?

So I've done quite a lot of doodles for insta but had yet to do a proper digital piece - this is the first meeting. The ship was kinda both thought up by me and so it was a defo firm fave c:

After this, Hunter spent the night taking shelter in Wild's treehouse and in the morning Wild took him back to the village. Hunter was still quite curious, and tried to find him the following day to thank him. The two quickly became firm friends and despite his lack of Smurf language, Hunter realised he was just as smart and capable as any of them, and it started to develop into something more. Eventually, Hunter left the village to stay with Wild in the forest (his cousin Tracker supported him throughout it all) and he now lives there with Nifty too, although frequently visits the village.

Hunter's only form of actually hunting now is spear fishing, although he still more or less goes for berries and honey over all. Wild is the same as the cartoon in my au, so he mostly speaks squirrel chitters although can understand Smurfish perfectly. He can say "Hunter" as well as a few words tho
