Futuo-mythical masterpiece.
The detail is enough to make your head spin, and the dark contours really add to the overall mechanical effect.. And it all beautifully contrasts the light emitting from the structure.
And I might actually know what you mean by those spells of dread.. This portrays that well, not only with the sort of 'creeping' light but also with the swirling clouds to the right. Amazing.
