Thank you very much!
The old look of the seat on the left is the result of a little light leak while putting the film into the tank or somewhere else, don't know where, but it's just on the right place I'm really happy about that little accident
And not to forget the new newspaper, where you can read the stuff that happened in the past.

Lovely! But why the shallow depth of field? I think having the child and old man in focus would have made a more interesing picture. Anyways thats just my 2 cents. And im a critical bastard! I would also have cropped the left seat. But its still very very good

Thank you for your comment!
I would have played around with the focus, but that was the last shot on the film, so I have to live with the focus But... I'm very happy about it
The left seat has the old look, while the right seat is (or seems to be) new, so I definitely won't crop it out

Looks good with more ground and less ceiling would be awesome!

This reminds me in a way of some photos I recently saw by Walter Schels
of old people and babies. It's a great combination and they contrast each
other well. Maybe a larger DOF to get the face of the baby sharp might've
been good, but I'm not sure. Great shot

Thank you very much for the comment!
I'm not 100% sure about the DOF, too, but f/2.8 was the only chance to take the photo, because it's not that bright in the trains and it was the last shot on the roll, so no chances for experiments

Great shot! I love how you captured this in black and white even!

Imho it would be pretty boring in colour, except the red cap of the child

kontrast und farbspiel sind umwerfend!
genauso, wie die schΓ€rfenverlagerung kind/alter herr.
wie einst/jetzt.

I like it a lot..
one point maybe:
try putting your hand over a bit of the left and the top so that the part above the man's head is cropped out and the seat on the left is gone too.. is it better?
just my 2 pence..
take care

yeah, i had this idea, too and played around with different crops but finally i liked the unedited version more
but thank you!

that's fair enough then ! it's good as it is
the reason i suggested was because i thought you were trying to hard to make it into a subway photo whereas it would have been a stronger photograph with the man and the child alone... just my opinion if you like it, that's most important.
nicely done

yeah, but with a crop down to the man and the child you would still see some reflections, jackets and stuff, that would make it more bad than stronger imho. the child and the man in a park with trees behind them - just as an example - would be perfect to crop. here's just too much underground stuff in the back.
but thank you very much for the comment, unusual for me to see mor than a 3-word comment.
thanks a lot!

Now that I think of it I think you're right about the crop.. It appears we have went through the same thought process !
Nicely done...!

You're right... I always thought commenting is what makes DA DA. Unless people comment constructively it's nothing more than showing off art.. it's not about improving.

Yeah. I'm really happy that there're people like you who give real comments. 3 constructive comments make me much more happy than 1000 'wow, this is great'. Seems not all people understand what 'Advanced Critique Encouraged' means.
Thanks again!
