This has to be one of my more favorite pieces of work you've done. But take my word with a grain of salt - I really like pointy stuff. And there's a lot of pointy stuff.
First off, the use of composition - here, there's a lot of powerful movements implied with the mane the horseshoe, and Luna's line of sight. Everything moves off to the right, but is reeled back in now and then with some sweeps of hair that point to the left. Even the moon helps to accentuate that. Now here's where the big problem comes in. The eye follows the lines to the right until it just falls off the drawing. So much of Luna's hair moves to the right, Luna looks to the right, and her horn points to the right that the eye wants to move that way, but stops before it sees anything.
I think this is where playing with negative space would help you out the most. It'll help to frame the piece better and let the piece breathe a bit. It feels a bit cramped.
Still though, the color choice, anatomy, style choice, and brush strokes work forthis composition and make it feel all intentional. Just don't forget how powerful negative space can be. But if you don't want the piece to be open, have the composition lines move the eye around in a circle and to other points of interest. The mane, for example, the lock that sweeps to the left in front of her eye does this the best - and is quite a lovely curve at that.

This looks awesome! I really like her glaring expression and the dark use of blues and purples gives her an awesomely sinister presence here.
