I dare you to watch this video >D (Just wait for the commercial at the beginning to finish) [link]For a retarded quick comic this took WAY too much time XD;; I watched the ENTIRE Double Dragon Movie AND the entire "The Wizard" movie. As well as 2 episodes of the Zelda cartoon, 2 episodes of the SATAM Sonic cartoon AND an episode of the Super Mario Bros Super Show. (The ScrewAttack commentary versions for all of them. I love ScrewAttack)
Can you believe I came up with this over 3 months ago? I didn't draw it because it didn't make much sense at all, but after watching the video I linked at the top and hearing what Stuttering Craig had to say I felt the urge to draw it anyway, even if it is on crack.
I only really like the last 3 panels (Or rather last 2 since the last panel is just a revamped version of the one before it) but I also like Raph and Donny in the second panel, but I don't like how Mikey looks in that one.
I am the biggest Scrooge McDuck fan EVER!! Every-one should read the comic "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" by Don Rosa. It's AMAZING!!
I think the Ducktales theme song holds the title of being the most potent song in the history of EVERYTHING. I am DEAD serious. When I get it stuck in my head I generally do what Mikey's doing here and spread the torture XDDD
I like how happy Donny looks in the last panel XDDDD

Not completely OOC. Raph's too much in shock to react XDDD as for not smacking Donny, Raph isn't very physical with Don for some reason. At least not past noogies

I think it's because Don isn't as rock-hard as the other three of them. He tends to get hurt and get sick easier than the others for some reason. Raph's rather super-protective of him I've noticed in the 2k3 series when they get into fights.

well he is next to the youngest. Mikey is just too annoying for Raph not to beat-up on. lol they are soo cute. as for Don getting sick easier it's probably because he's around all those chemicals all the time. no way that can be healthy. anyhoo, it was a seriously funny comic and yes i did get that stupid song stuck in my head after reading it. lol ^_^

Well, I try not to make frivolous, useless comments. I speak about what strikes me the most about a particular piece, and in this case, the acting came across so well, I almost didn't notice it at first - I just drank it all up.
Damn, I'd really love to see this strip actually animated - to see if it would look anything like it does in my head.
I don't know why, since I'm not an animator, but for some reason acting - body language, facial expressions, all that stuff... it's really important to me.

but then there's a LOT of stuff I'd animate if I had the time to do so ;__;
Anyway, how characters are handled are always my top priority when I draw or animate or write. when dealing with a visual art form that isn't writing I pay very close attention to the smallest of details. Like how in the second panel Mikey's not just placing his hands on Raph's carapace but he actually curls his fingers around the shell's rim, or how in the third panel he's got Raph in a head lock but his hand itself is not making physical contact with Raph's neck which would make the action aggressive instead of the level of affection I was trying to bring across. On the other hand Donny doesn't move at all for 3 panels apart from an expression change and some eye darts. this is also done on purpose not only to not draw attention away from Raph and Mikey's little performance but also because it's a typical response for Donatello's character given this situation. He's a pacifist and rather introverted and he basically freezes to stop hurricane Mikey from turning his attentions on him instead of Raph, while the eye-dart could signify several specific things but mainly it just shows his mind working even though he's frozen up.
GAH! XDDD I could go on forever. main point is I love this kind of stuff

Yeah, I had noticed that. I like the way you think about these things. I didn't think about quite as in-depth as you did --- I just noticed that Mikey's movements weren't at all aggressive, but instead rather playful, albeit in a rough kind of way. Raph's reactions are great too, they all appear to be somewhat annoyed (and somewhat involuntary) responses to what Mikey's doing. I like to think that my acting is pretty good too, but in lack of any greater knowledge or training, I just wing it and see if the pose speaks back to me the way I inted it to.

I'm more or less the same. Yes I think my poses and interactions out very carefully, but I don't have a list of rules I refer to or anything, and most of the time it's "Put his hand here because of this and this and this reason and see how it looks" Sometimes the result isn't what I want, but hey, live and learn. I love body language and posing
