In which there are more colours than usual.
To preemtively answer a question I'm guessing some people might have; Sans is not powering up or launching any kind of attack, nor is he being aggressive. Which is why he's not flared up.
I've tried my hardest to keep the comic pretty organic with its lines and colours, but in the end, there was no way to show a soul without adding a slight glow around it using an airbrush. So I had to break my self imposed rules for that one ;o;
Gasters are the hardest things to draw in the whole world. But despite that, I'm actually really pleased with this page as it's one of the few that came out pretty much exactly how I pictured it. poses and all.
My wrist was twinging last night while I was finishing up and it's sore today, so I'm taking a break for a few days before continuing with the next page.

Haha I like how he's logically trying to figure out what's wrong with himself. Check the soul, check the HP, check the powers. It's like going over every part in a car engine to figure out what's been making the ominous rattling noise.

I don't know, I think to works for soul exposure. That it looks a bit out of place does seem to emphasize that it's not something that's always visible.

Sans doesn't have time powers in this comic because as far as I know that's more a fanon thing? And I'm not entirely sure I buy into that theory

well, it's more of a theory than a fanon thing, as far as I've seen most people don't even use that theoryΒ 
(I personally like to imagine sometimes that he can't even teleport, that he can only pause time and thus makes it look like teleporting if he suddenly appears somewhere after having walked there while pausing time, pfff, but it's just an idea XD)

Although if he did have time powers I would say he doesnt have teleporting powers. But time powers are OP as fuck. as is teleporting in all honesty. it makes everything WAY too easy. in all honesty I wouldn't give him teleporting powers either as his weird handling of direction is almost certainly just a joke on the game's part. I mean I have not seen anyone say papyrus can walk on water or float despite the way HE moves in the game.
Sadly however, The teleporting idea is so over-saturated on the internet that one can no longer write Sans without including it, and subconsciously I have just been brainwashed to accept it as canon. So as a result it is a power he has in the comic. Because the internet has rewired my brain to accept this as truth and so I cannot write him as a character without including it as part of his personality. Which is kinda frustrating.

I see, yeah... well, many things we take from the games are merely theories and dependant on our individual interpretation and just like with many other fictional things, not everything makes sense or has to make sense

true, a good example for that would probably be Papyrus' magic color, in canon there was never anything saying that it's orange, the only colored magic he ever used in game was blue magic, yet the fanon norm has his magic being orange in color, I'm also drawing it that way because I've grown to like it due to the fandom alone, which is why if you want to stay as close to the source as possible you should distance yourself from the fandomΒ as much as you canΒ so not to let yourself get influenced by it

No he doesn't. Fans only say he does because they don't like wrestling with the idea of a visual metaphor to enhance the emotions within a scene and like to take everything as 100% literal.

Well, SAVEing and LOADing is 100% literal and happens in-universe, among other things, so it's easy for fans to interpret literally everything, even visual metaphor stuff, as having a tangible literal expanation. Within that context, that scene where the backgroud "freezes" is interpreted as Sans stopping time, similar to how he teleports, and how he fights you by cheating and breaking the game. Sans having quantam reality hacking abilities is pretty much canon in every fans' eyes.Β
