Taerdu doesn't look it, but he's a philosopher who desires to know what happens after death... a subject that fascinates me to no end. In my story, Taerdu finds out and is able to tell others at the end - but is unwilling to.

I was tempted to name this character after the Hindu monkey-god Hanuman, but I didn't want to link the potential story and character to a religion.

Personality wise, Taerdu is very intelligent and patient. He is also obsessive and will not stop something until he finishes. These qualities lead him on the quest to discover what happens after a person dies, without dying himself.
