Description
“Second” part of the collab made with @goldxnfairy , who has written several and beautiful flashbackes about a Gajevy AU for the event unison raid bang. I remember you that it’s only a part of the story, so a new flashback is revealed. Happy reading!!!
P.S. First there is the flashback besides the comic.
P.S.S. You’ll find it even on FB and tumblr (images and text) and Pintrest (only images here). Please don’t put it anywhere else.
Slowly walking out of the spare room, Levy looked on her…hmm… protector? Travel companion? She wasn’t sure. But he was both, for sure.
“Well, what do you think?” she asked, standing in front of him. “How do I look?”
After they stopped in that little town, Gajeel told her to not go anywhere – don’t even out of the room he paid for – and then left. When he returned, he brought her clothes to wear, because the dress she had from rough-spun wool would help her. Her new clothes were amazing, if she had to be honest. First was the knee-long light gray tunic with long sleeves that covered her slender neck with a little leather belt around her waist to keep it in place, with simple white sleeveless shirt underneath. On her legs she wore black, skin-tight leggings that would keep her warm on their long trip northeast, along with pair of dark gray leather boots that were perfect her small feet. The last, finishing piece was long, pale gray cloak draped over her small shoulders, trimmed with silver fur on the hem of the hood. She could help but wonder how much gold he paid for them, because the clothes were just amazing and would do good job to keep her warm. She liked them.
The man in question was currently sitting on the bed of their room. He was shirtless, giving her a good view of his well-sculpted torso. Not like she cared – she was healer, after all, she had seen things like that hundreds of times. Okay, maybe not as good tanned as his, but that was her point. He was still wearing his gray trousers and his heavy, iron-bound boots. His hair was pulled away from his face in a long, high ponytail, two raven locks framing his handsome face. Bandage covered his whole left arm completely, from shoulder to wrist. She had asked him if he want help, but he refused. And his arm looked quite fine… Why he needed the bandage, anyway?
“You look good, I guess.”
“Really?” Levy smiled at him. It wasn’t like she didn’t hear enough men telling her how ‘hot’ she looked – she was disgusted by that. But he didn’t say any of that.
“Yeah.” Gajeel just shrugged, lifting his head slightly to look at her better. “Why?”
“Well, just…” She gulped slightly and sighed, her hand running through her messy cerulean locks. “Some men like to comment my appearance, but not in a good way… And women often tell me I have none of the curves real woman should have. And I think you noticed my height.” She closed her eyes. “Anyway, you got my point. I don’t find myself physically attractive.”
“Bullshit.” His deep crimson eyes stared at hers. The bluenette could literally feel the ire in his voice. “Just because someone told you something, you don’t have to listen to them. Do you know how much women will kill to be like you? You’re who you are. You can’t change it. Got it?”
“I-I-I-”
“I asked, got it?”
“Yes.” She straightened her back and squared her small shoulders. “I got it.”
“Good. Don’t let people’s words reach you.”
The young priestess didn’t answer him. Instead, she sat next to him on the bed and sighed deep. She had always been self-conscious… Why did his words made her feel better? Because they were true, or… or what? She had quickly learned Gajeel Redfox was man of honor, man of his word. He never lied to her. Oh, for sure sometimes he didn’t bother to answer her thousands of questions, but when he did, they were true. Always. Why? She didn’t know, but she really appreciated that. She was tired from lies and half-truths.
Suddenly Levy caught the spark of something in his hands and tilted her head slightly, peeking over his shoulder. He was really holding small piece of metal in his large calloused hands, turning it around to see it.
“What’s that?” she asked, letting her hand rest over his right shoulder. His muscles tensed slightly at her touch and then relaxed again, letting her use him as support. “Are you working over something?”
She had noticed he liked crafting metal things. He had little bag where he kept all his works and she found it strangely adorable.
“Nothin’ to worry your brain about, little blue” he answered and stood up, his long black hair cascading on his back. “Get some rest.”
“Wait!” She almost jumped up. “Where are you doing?”
The man turned around and stared at her for few seconds.
“Umm… Nowhere? ” He cocked one pierced eyebrow at her. “You’re acting strange.”
“I’m not! You’re the strange one!”
