Description
I looked out to the ocean. Something had been on my mind lately. An old memory. An old set of memories, actually. It's a wonder I remember them at all; I was four when the events occurred. I sighed, brushing my long hair back and taking the pony-tail holder off my wrist and managing to pull my hair out of my face. I brushed off my denim shorts, blue/black tank-top with the red jacket-like pocket on the front, and sat down while peeling off my sandals."There you are." I turned to see Riku, still in his jeans (I have no idea how he's not overheating in them. See why I switched to shorts?) and black tank-top.
"Where else would I be?" I said with a laugh.
He sat down next to me. "What's on your mind?"
"Something has to be on my mind for me to look out at the ocean?" I asked, leaning back into the sand.
"For this long, yes." He said with a smirk.
I sighed again, sitting up. "Well, okay. I've had these old memories on my mind." He raised an eyebrow, tilting his head slightly. "Genuine memories. I know that no one messed with them, or anything. I mean, these memories are memories from when it was just you and me; Kairi wasn't here yet."
"You can remember that far back?" He said, "That was a very long time ago, at least eleven years ago."
"Yeah, but still… Because of them, I get the feeling that all we've been through is only the beginning." He looked at me like I was crazy. I leaned back again. "Riku, I KNOW the memories are genuine."
"Then… what are they?" He asked. I smiled.
"Well, there was this blue-haired woman. I remember her asking me right in front of you if I liked you." I giggled a little at Riku's expression, then continued, "And I told her I did, you were my best friend. And you still are, just F.Y.I." He smiled at that. "And she told me to protect you and help you if you ever 'fell into darkness'."
"Which you did." Riku said.
"Then there's the second one. Well… This one takes a little more explaining. Have you ever entered that place that has the stained-glass-like floor?" I asked. He raised his eyebrows, thought for a moment.
"Can't say I have. If I did, I don't remember." He sighed.
"Okay then. That was the place I was in when I was being lazy and dozing on the beach, you know, a day or two before we were all split up and this place was destroyed?"
"That's why you were dozing?"
"Well, I was dozing to be lazy, but that's where I ended up in my dream."
"Okay…"
"Well," I said, trying to call back the memory as I sat up and shook sand out of my ponytail, "I was there. And there was someone else's heart. It was injured, on the verge of being broken, and it asked if it could be a part of my heart. The voice… It almost sounded like Roxas... But it was a guy's voice."
"Huh."
"Weird, I know."
"Don't know what to tell you, Sora."
"That's okay, Riku." I sighed, running a hand through my bangs. "I'm just wondering about why-"
"Sora! Riku!" Kairi came up calling our names.
"Kairi!" I said. Both Riku and I jolted to our feet as she came closer, handing us a glass bottle with a letter inside… I recognized the seal. It was from the King!
