Lore:

Early History: Nohanuas du Romway was a nobleman and bastard son of some guy who committed (or was accused of committing anyway) some criminal stuff in Argantania in early medieval times and so was expelled along with his supporters to the South a one-way trip which was supposed lead to their drowning in endless waters of southern ocean but instead greeted them with new land instead where which they came to the Kingdom of the Emanians a spartan group of people (most likely from Othrysia) who allowed them safe passage through their lands and allowed them to settle in the lands of Argo to the west of their kingdom... provided they help them vanquish their enemies the Aspenians a people dwelling in this democratic city-state of Aspens who blocked the way to the lands of Argo to which the Nizans agreed and so helped topple the city to its knees. Nohanuas' father and his followers would found a town called Noa Niza on an island off the coast of Argo (whose old natives weren't too terribly happy to get neighbors but eventually obliged in the end).
Now not far next door was the kingdom of Kelmathustra a land once well known but fallen to obscurity due to the multiple occasions of horsepeoples invading from the south. When Nohanuas was a teenager he'd go off to Kelmathustra and go about as a sellsword. It was during his time as a sellsword that he'd come to meet the princess of the kingdom and the love of his life Igyptini an exotic young woman with a good heart and surprisingly sharp intellect. Nohanuas head over heels for this girl would go to her father Akhnez the Blood King after a time and ask for her hand in marriage to which he was essentially stonewalled and told to go perform a bunch of near-herculean tasks in the interim to which he did. So Nohanuas does the Blood Kings bidding and kills a lot of people guilty and innocent alike.
Eventually towards the end of his journey he comes to battle with the warrior monk Anubis of Acaba who he eventually befriends and sides with against the Blood King having learned of his atrocities and persecution against the Lazarai a native people to the east following what would come to be officially known as Orthodoshanism. Regardless of this however Nohanuas goes back and asks to marry the princess again but he's mockingly laughed at by the Blood King who locks him up. Nohanuas then escapes prison and goes back to his home where he finds out his father his dead as are many of his siblings for some reason. He takes control of his tribe (and kills off any opposition to him) and then amasses an army to go and invade Kelmathustra. Together with the warrior monks they defeat the Blood King's army to which he is betrayed by his daughter who lets the invaders into the city to which he then cowardly takes his own life.
The victorious Nohanuas having literally destroyed an entire kingdom because of his actions marries Princess Igyptini and so the new empire is born... the Empire of the Nohanuans. Eventually Kelmathustra and the Lazarai is united under Nohanuan rule and later brings their neighbors of Emania into the fold too.
